RESUMEN: Se determinó el efecto de bacterias con potencial probiótico en el crecimiento y supervivencia de la tilapia Oreochromis niloticus. Se aislaron cepas presuntivas de vibrios y bacilos del agua del estanque de cultivo comercial de tilapia y cepas presuntivas de lactococos del intestino, branquias y escamas de tilapia adultas. Se determino la actividad hemolítica, actividad de proteasas y lipasas y actividad antagonista contra vibrios en las cepas de bacilos y lactococos. Se realizó la tinción de Gram y se determinó la forma y el arreglo celular de las cepas con hemólisis y, es decir, sin hemólisis.
ABSTRACT: The effect of bacteria with probiotic potential on the growth and survival of Oreochromis niloticus tilapia was determined. Presumptive strains of vibrios and bacilli were isolated from the tilapia commercial culture pond and presumptive strains of intestinal lactococci, gills and adult tilapia scales. The hemolytic activity, protease and lipase activity and antagonist activity against vibrios in the strains of bacilli and lactococci were determined. Gram stain was performed and the shape and cell arrangement of the strains were determined with hemolysis and, that is, without hemolysis.
