Cine y ciudad: La representación cinematográfica de los paisajes urbanos de la Ciudad de México

Abstract

RESUMEN: La presente tesis desarrolla la relación cine-ciudad. En ella se analizan las distintas formas en que la ciudad es representada y significada por el cine mexicano actual, centrándonos en el paisaje cinematográfico urbano expuesto por la cinta, pero dando cabida también tanto al contexto de producción de la misma como al de recepción. Para ello se analizan seis películas mexicanas realizadas entre el año 2009 y el 2015, a partir de las cuales se visibilizan una serie de lugares, trayectos y descripciones de la Ciudad de México y de su Centro Histórico. Todo esto nos remite a una ciudad vivida, conformada por una serie de memorias, experiencias, afectos y significaciones que se manifiestan y emergen a través de la práctica cinematográfica y de sus propias representaciones sobre la ciudad. En este sentido, se parte de una perspectiva transdiciplinaria que agrupa a los estudios urbanos, culturales y cinematográficos, para entender la ciudad no sólo desde su dimensión física, sino también desde la simbólica y lo imaginario, pues es a partir de éstos que pensamos nuestras ciudades, sus espacios y sus fenómenos. ABSTRACT: This thesis develops the cinema-city relationship. In it, the different ways in which the city is represented and signified by current Mexican cinema are analyzed, focusing on the urban cinematographic landscape exposed by the film, but also considering both the context of its production and reception. For this, six Mexican films made between 2009 and 2015 are analyzed, from which a series of places, routes and descriptions of Mexico City and its Historic Center are visible. All this refers us to a lived city, made up of a series of memories, experiences, affections and meanings that are manifested and emerge through film practice and their own representations of the city. In this sense, we start from a transdisciplinary perspective that groups urban, cultural and cinematographic studies, to understand the city not only from its physical dimension, but also from the symbolic and imaginary, since it is from these that we think our cities, their spaces and their phenomena.
